Sassytranslations is a fresh and innovative project, born from the dream of a lifetime, and developed with dedication and strength.
I’m Erica Mele, graduated with full marks with a Master’s Degree in Modern Languages and Translation, at Unisalento University. My love for languages, combined with that for reading and writing, that accompany me since I was a child, have been the essential motivation that pushed me and made me approach this world, as beautiful as challenging.
I worked with different kinds of specialized texts: biochemical, psychological, economical, bureaucratic-administrative, archaeological, etc.
While, as for narrative texts, I had the honour of translating two e-books (“Andalusian in Jerusalem” by MoisBenarroch, and “The travels at the turn of the century. Travel to Mallorca” by Mario Garrido Espinosa, both from Spanish to Italian), my first, and certainly not last, experiences in the world of literary translation.
From July 2018 I’m also registered as a Technical Consultant for the judge (sworn translator) of the Lecce Court. My aim is to start from these experiences in order to improve more and more, by offering my knowledge and my services with integrity, dedication and punctuality, and fully respecting the client, along with his/her needs and demands, and by providing the best quality of the service in a short time.

My University studies have been a great starting point for a future career in the translation
area: not only have I studied thoroughly everything concerning translation, but I also had the
chance to put that into practice with a useful course of subtitling from Spanish into Italian and
vice versa;

This position improved my adaptability and flexibility: I have the ability to approach different

This job helped me improving my organisational skills: deadlines are strict and must be
